We recently covered what the biggest shoe trends of 2014 (here if you missed it) and we promised you a sneak peak at what can you expect (and what we’ll be wearing) in 2015.
In a nutshell, we’re seeing lots of our favourite silhouettes coming back with subtle changes in shapes, adornments, materials and little touches that make them even more covetable. Talk about being excited, we need it to be spring, like right now.
Strappy Sandals, as seen at Dsquared2
You summer fave just got bigger – the skinny, barely there strappy sandal is a front runner for shoe of the year. SS15 is all about the delicate details like lacing and spaghetti straps, they add an instant street style chic to any outfit. Did someone say pose for the camera?
Flatforms, as seen at DKNY
They first appeared on the New York runways and not everyone was convinced. Here at schuh we love a good flatform and think you’re warming to them too. We’ve got some beauties coming in and these are the answer some of you have long been searching for – heels that give height without pain.
70s Platform, as seen at Mulberry
The platform sandal remains a style star and we’ll be seeing it in everything from pastel and metallic hues to full glitter (not just for Christmas ya know) to textured leather uppers. Peep toes are a huge deal too, lucky that, because we love them.
Loafers, as seen at Prada
There’s a lotta love for the loafer around these parts. It’s fast become a wardrobe staple, and not just for those who like to work an androgynous vibe. Look forward to the new loafer, a hybrid mule with a cut out back, along with chunky, tasselled and shiny versions. Contain yourself for an array of dreamy pastels and kiltie fringes.
Flat Sandal, as seen at Saint Laurent
Q: How many ways can you do a flat sandal? A: Lots. Every girl’s best friend, the flattie, is a warm weather basic. This spring summer you can take your pick from a number of different trends including sporty flats (think a cross between pensioners and backpackers), extreme gladiators (the higher up the leg, the better) and chunky two strap delights, with a bulky, orthopedic feel. The list goes on.
Mules, as seen at Proenza Schouler
The mule is making a strong comeback; it’s the power shoe of 2015. Updates to the 90s classic include pointed toes, double straps and buckles. You’ll love the shimmering hues and chunky heels.
Where are all the sneakers we hear you cry? Well, there are too many to mention and for that reason, they deserve their own post. Watch this space…
