Sometimes it feels like we’ve got re-issues coming out of our ears. Complaining? Na, never. Not us. We love nothing more than a retro runner revived. Enter the adidas Marathon ’85.

One of the latest re-releases from adidas, it has us all excited. Like a kid on Christmas morning. Seriously though, this is not just another re-release.

Rumour has it, that for reasons unknown, the Marathon ‘85 was a forgotten style almost left on the shelf (cue the violins). Maybe the 80s world wasn’t ready for it? Who knows why it never made it to the streets. But, after spending the last 29 years hidden in secret adidas archive, thankfully it’s back and it can now be yours.

Styled on the first ever Marathon trainer, released circa 1980, the ‘85 stays true to its original inspiration. Classic details are updated with a sleek modern twist. The ‘85 features a mixed-materials upper (suede, mesh and felt) with perforated detail and a contrasting originals label tongue. A nice chunky white and grey sole finish them off perfectly. This is a light but hard wearing shoe that looks good with almost anything.

Our favourite retro inspired colourway is the burgundy and apricot. It sounds a bit iffy, we know, but trust us, it’s a match made in heaven. In fact, it works so well we don’t think these will be available for long. A well-worthy addition to your sneaker rotation. Get in there.
