Okay, so it’s a given that many of you will be having a totally boring dry quiet January, and the last thing on your mind or in your social calendar for that matter, is a red carpet event. What, no awards ceremonies coming up?

Well, if you ask us, there’s no better time to get all glammed up and go out. Given that January is typically the darkest, most boring month anyway, you might as well enjoy it in style.

While you were lazing on the sofa watching Celebrity Big Brother (I know, it was mental, right?), we were on red carpet shoe watch at the Golden Globes, spotting who was wearing what and planning easy ways for you to work that glamorous LA red carpet look. We’re nice like that. The first thing we’ll say, is that the red carpet fashions were a tad disappointing, but the high heels, they were on point.

One thing that’s for sure, is those barely there sandals we told you about a while back are still huge, and loads of beautiful ladies were seen wearing a pair. We saw various strappy styles in white, nude, black and metallic shades. Cue a bevy of beauties including the queen of the black dress Jennifer Aniston, quirky fashionista Sienna Miller, legendary supermodel Cindy Crawford and moody actress Kathryn Heigl, all looking stunning. Get the look with Hot Date or Femme Fatale – two simple and elegant barely there sandals.

Another actress looking incredibly chic (and one of our fave looks of the night) was Emma Stone. Emma bucked the floor length gown trend in style and chose a truly elegant jumpsuit by Lanvin. Ticking a few of the season’s trends off the list, Stone was working embellishment and bows like a pro, and to finish it off perfectly, she chose a classic black stiletto with an asymmetric toe. You can find a very similar style in schuh’s Mega Hot black high heeled pumps.
