jeans and shoes header

Now this is a combo that needs little in the way of an introduction. There are jeans and shoes then there’s ‘Jeans and Sheux’ – the latter being what we’ve all seen stinking out the streets, with a Tumblr page even being set up to show off these absolute screamers. Think a tasty pair of bootcut jeans and a slip-on pair of formal shoes – primarily hidden by said bootcuts. So let us give you a run-down of our jeans and shoes – do’s and don’ts.

When we think about your man who loves a pair of ‘jeans and sheux’ then we can comfortably profile them with the following:

  • Strictly guitar based music
  • Shopping near exclusively in Officers Club and Millets
  • Swearing at cyclists because the “Roads were made for cars”
  • Bought Amazon Prime just so he’d never miss an episode of Top Gear

If this is sounding like you then probably best to give reading on a miss.

DON’T

Wear a pair of stone washed, bootcut jeans with a pair of black slip-ons. Might be accepted attire down the local bowling club eating a packet of pork scratchings and gubbing a pint of Carling, but to the rest of the population it is truly barking.

DO

Go for a minimal, lightweight style that goes with anything and is a staple for any night on the town. The Dr Martens Lakewood 4 eye shoes fits what you’re wanting perfectly.

DON’T

Stick on a pair luminous tan slip ons. Look at them – easily the worst guy on the tube with those sharp bad boys. Those jeans will have that dire archway at the back of them by the end of the day.

DO

Go for a pair of loafers and black skinny jeans. Socks are optional but loafers are made for shoes without socks. Think Bass Layton Moc Kiltie Crepe Shoes and you’d have a pair that will suit you through smart casual occasions all year round.

DON’T

Just wear your work shoes out for after work drinks and then put a pair of distressed looking flares on. Don’t stand cross legged with your thumb in your pocket whilst wearing them either; you ain’t modelling anything good here my man.

Go for a pair of suede derby shoes for ideal office to pub wear. A pair of Red or Dead Mr Walsh shoes will do you well.
