womens black high heels and mens black leather tassel loafers for work and office shoes schuh blog

Whilst we’re more than aware you’ve probably already been overexposed to more than enough #newyearnewyou posts for the whole of 2017, we’re still going to go ahead and throw another one at you…sorry. But hear us out – because this one isn’t going to attempt to coax you into rolling off your sofa.

So, you’ve started to get the ball rolling with your fitness journey after reading our New Year New You: Fashion Trainers to See You Through January and Beyond post – or have now cancelled your gym membership – either way, January sadly still isn’t over and you’ve still got time to recreate yourself in a different area of your life (because apparently you can only change yourself during the first month of every year). Today we’re talking work wear. And think about it, where do you spend most of your time? So you should probably invest in a pair of shoes that’ll keep you smug even when your boss is giving you a grilling or Carl from IT has asked if you’ve tried switching your computer off and on again yet. Yeah? Yeah.

We’re also more than aware that not all of you work in an office environment with a condescending Carl (lucky you) so we’ve pulled together our top three ladies and men’s styles to suit most work environments; smart, smart/casual and casual.

For the gals:

Smart: For ladies who mean business, we recommend the bestselling Point Toe Court high heels from Missguided. Ideal for putting you in the mindset of a boss lady, they’ll also sculpt your pins and go with your whole wardrobe. Side note: We’re not saying for a minute that you can’t slay in a pair of flats, ladies – just that we’re seriously loving this silhouette.
Smart/casual: For the more relaxed environment that still calls for some level of formality, we’re pitching the Sphere flats from schuh. With a glossy patent loafer upper that says work time and an on-trend contrasting white sole that says strut time, these are the perfect blend of smart and casual.
Casual: If your work environment is chill with you wearing whatever (within reason) then today we’re proposing the Coral Canvas Ox trainers from Converse. A new generation of the classic All Star Ox, these plimsolls have less of an upper and more of a low-top cut, meaning they’ll be especially good for the upcoming warmer months.

For the dudes:

Smart: For the all the dapper dudes who need to up their formal game on the regular, we suggest you check out the Carver Shoes from Paul Smith. A modern update of the classic tassel loafer, the glossy black leather uppers sit on supportive and lightweight man-made sole units for extra comfort on your daily commute.
Smart/casual: Perfect for the smart/casual workplace and also perfect for seeing you transcend from the work to the pub with ease, the Battle Brogue from Base London is a great investment. Also, you know you can never go wrong with a good pair of brogues.
Casual: Finally, we’re putting forward the Star Player trainers from Converse for the casual work environment. The iconic profile has been given a slick triple black colourway update, which will compliment your full wardrobe with ease.
