From embracing British Humour and youth culture through their design process, to putting on headline-grabbing provocative catwalk shows; Red or Dead aren’t afraid to push boundaries. Channelling this creative power via footwear was and still is a definitive part of Red or Dead’s success. The brand famously re-imagined the classic Dr Martens work boot as a fashion item by altering the design to feature see-through elements and their iconic ‘Space Baby in Helmet Print’, before selling them alongside the rest of their collection at market stalls. Today, the brand continues to push footwear boundaries, with the most up-to-date effort presenting itself as their ‘Made in England’ S/S ’15 men’s collection.

Teaming up with the Northamptonshire Productive Society – a Wollaston village based footwear manufacturing collective, first established in 1881, and referred to locally as ‘The Duffers’ – Red or Dead go against the fast-fashion grain to create stylish, proudly English, bench-made shoes, that are made using traditional hand-tooled techniques.

One of our favourite styles from the collection is the Red or Dead Mr Doherty, a formal lace-up leather brogue which is available in 2 colourways:

With teal stitching, which has been specially dyed to match Red or Dead’s signature hue, contrasting leather uppers, leather linings and a Goodyear Welted Sole, Mr Doherty gives a nod to the summer and alludes to Red or Dead’s rebellious, colourful and uniquely British attitude.
