After Cara proclaimed her love for iridescent mules and Claire showed us how she’d style gladiator sandals, it’s now my turn to gush over one of Spring/Summer ‘15s hottest shoe trends: snakeskin shoes.

The catwalks of the Spring 2015 Ready-to-Wear collections were awash with the trend; from Roberto Cavalli presenting top-to-toe snakeskin-inspired ensembles, utility dresses glammed up with chic heels and accessories at Gucci, and gold satin suits with beige snakeskin belts and sandals at Ralph Lauren – it’s safe to say reptile skin is pretty in right now.

People close to me know that two of my favourite things in the world are yearning over outfits on catwalks (unfortunately my bank balance doesn’t match my expensive taste) and reptiles – yup, you read that right, I love reptiles – iguanas are my fave. So naturally, when the schuh Drama Queen heels landed on my desk, it was a match made in fashion heaven for me. Better still, I could actually afford these!

These beauts come in two colourways; all-black with subtle reptile texture, and natural with beige and grey snake detail. Although both are really versatile, I’ve chosen the natural as the pattern is more prominent – I’m also trying to curb my black shoe addiction. I’ve paired them with some vintage-treated, high-waisted denim shorts and a striped shirt for an ideal office-to-cocktail bar outfit (hello Friday) but they’ll look equally as good with party dresses for the weekend or turned-up, ripped mom jeans with a plain white tee for more casual attire.
