From dominating colour palettes back in the summer of ’14, the trend of powdery pastels has held strong against the perils of changing tastes; despite its light and fluffy appearance. For S/S ’16 the sherbet shades are predicted to be back with a vengeance (in the best possible way) and we’ve got some amazing picks to take your look from dreary to dreamy in an instant.
With January blues hitting us hard, checking forecasts has become one of our favourite pastimes. Whilst weather forecasts can be as unreliable as public transport, a good fashion forecaster can have you planning your wardrobe for the coming season in ease. After a little research, we found that all the trend forecasting heavyweights were tipping pastels as one of S/S ‘16’s hottest trends; from Pantone’s colour of the year being a first time blending of two shades – Rose Quartz and Serenity – to WGSN’s ‘Soft Pop’ global colour direction report, it’s fair to say stocking up on your powdered hues is an educated style decision.
Prabal Gurung, DKNY and Marc by Marc Jacobs are all fans of apple mint; from using the colour as the main event in textured shimmery dresses to as an accent in looks via shoes and accessories. Shop now: Kickers Kick Hi.
