schuh festival june calendar

One of our favourite things about the summer, festivals are a highlight. If you ever needed an excuse to spend a weekend in a field, socialising, being merry and seeing your favourite acts then this is it. Naturally, we start planning our outfits from the feet up well in advance, so this summer, we’ve decided to bring you a series of Festival Calendars to keep you up-to-date on what we’ll be wearing, and who we’re most excited to see at each outing. First up, we have Field Day, Isle of Wight, Download and Glastonbury – welcome to the June Edit.

What to wear?

British summertime isn’t famed for it’s reliable weather, so we’ve prepared for either eventuality – come rain or shine, we have something stylish to cover you.

Let the sun shine

In an ideal world, it’s going to be sunny and warm as you dance around to your favourite acts. Picture the scene; denim cut-off shorts (essential), aviator shades (channeling some Top Gun) and flowers in your hair (optional/if you must). All that’s missing is some comfortable footwear to see you from dawn (or whenever you emerge from your tent feeling fragile) till dusk (whenever you collapse in a heap into said tent).

If all goes well, our pick of the festival looks would be these schuh Island Hop sandals. Ideal with shorts or a sweet little dress, these will be perfect to make the most of wild dance moves with a supportive buckle on the ankle strap.

Dare to bare (your toes only please – keep it clean)

If you’re not quite brave enough to venture into a field in sandals, then cut-out boots are the next most obvious choice. The schuh Rehearsal boots combine the western cowboy vibe with a block heel, cut-out detailing and a buckle for perfect festival style.

Don’t rain on my (fashion) parade

Should things take a turn for the worst and the sun puts his hat away to make way for the clouds, then don’t let it dampen your spirits or your feet – we’ve got you sorted for that too.

A staple of British culture and a legend on the festival circuit, Hunter wellies are a must have.  Step away from the traditional black, green and navy and go brighter to make a statement. The cool pale green pair of Hunter Original Short will brighten up even the dullest of days.

If wellies aren’t for you then a pair of iconic Dr Martens 8 Tie Boots are perfect. Team with bare legs and chunky socks for comfortable cool, or make a feminine dress have more of an edge.

The Line-Up Lowdown

Field Day 6th & 7th June

The smallest festival on our calendar with a huge line-up, Field Day will be incredible. We’re mostly excited for Caribou, but one-man-band Jack Garratt promises to be amazing.

It won’t be all play for us though, sadly. If you’re around, come and see us at the schuh Photobooth area. Festival goers can get free photos plus a £10 off code that can be used online and in all stores. There will be a chill out seating area and random acts of kindness where festival goers who are in need may be gifted some free wellies. You heard it here first people.

Isle of Wight – 11th-14th June

Fleetwood Mac. Yes that’s right – Fleetwood Mac. Need we say more about who we’re excited for? Ok, add to that Blur, Kodaline, Jessie Ware and the Kool and the Gang.

Download – 12th-14th June

If rock is more your thing, then spot your favourites with Slipknot, Muse and KISS headlining each night. Enter Shikari and Rise Against should not be missed – and who could forget Billy Idol?

Glastonbury – 24th – 28th June

The biggest festival of the month, Glastonbury officially kicks off on the Wednesday. If you’re one of the hardcore campers there from Tuesday night we applaud you. With Kanye, Foo Fighters and Lionel Richie amongst the headliners, it’s set to be massive. Jamie T and Hot Chip are who we don’t want to miss – and Pharrell Williams is sure to be on fine form after his super successful adidas Supercolor collaboration.

Well, there you have it. The first edition of our festival calendar. Keep your eyes peeled for the rest of the summer months round-up coming soon. If you’re at a festival sporting our wares then be sure to #schuh and to tag us on Instagram and Twitter! Happy camping.
